For the past 35 years I have provided independent inspection reports for clients referred by Trading Standards in the North East that are in dispute with retailers and warranty providers.

I have been registered with Trading Standards for over 25 years providing expert reports for customers in dispute regarding the service and quality of furniture purchased in the North East.

An Independent report is required when the retailer fails to accept that a fault exists. Within warranty the retailer will record a complaint then arrange an inspection.

  • Upholsterer employed by the retailer:
  • Agent employed by the manufacturer:
  • Service contractor acting for the retailer or manufacturer:

It is important to note that any report provided by the above should not be considered as independent.

A full inspection report prepared by an accepted expert is usually all that is required to resolve the dispute. The report is evidence in support of your complaint.

Furniture outside of the statutory warranty may result in the retailer refusing to accept the complaint due to the age of the furniture, the manufacturer would state that his warranty was with the retailer not the customer.

I have had a great deal of success with furniture that is in excess of one year old.
